Aloha Mālamapōkiʻi ʻOhana,
Based on the latest guidance and information from health officials, our elected leaders, and the Hawai'i Department of Education, our school campus will remain closed to all students until at least April 30, 2020, including Mālamapōkiʻi. School instruction will be on-hold until schools are able to reopen after this COVID-19 crisis and pandemic. To maximize learning opportunities for your keiki our Mālmapōkiʻi kumu will take their “summer” break during April and our school year will extend through June. No tuition payment is due in April, tuition payments will resume in May when we restart school.
We are also sad to announce that this school year's Hula Drama Performance has been cancelled. Our Hula Drama Directors and lead kumu will meet virtually to discuss how we might extend this year's plans of mo'olelo into next year's plan.
For families who have Pauahi Keiki Scholars or Open Doors Scholarships be assured they will cover tuition in June. You may receive a letter asking if your child will be attending school in June, all you need to do is reply to the letter.
Mahalo nui for your understanding and patience.
Nancy Levenson, Mālamapōkiʻi Director
